If you live in the Algarve or are here on holiday and you need a doctor or specialist, come to us. At the Neuroloulé Medical Centre you will find a Family doctor, a Neurologist and a Psychiatrist and Psychologists of various disciplines. We also work closely with a Nutritionist and a Chiropodist.
Our patients are welcome into a calm and friendly atmosphere with competent and professional support in all health areas. Consultations and diagnostic tests in several languages and contact with specialists from multiple areas, not only in Portugal but also abroad, are part of our daily work. We can liaise with specialists in your home country to ensure a comprehensive service.

High blood pressure - what does it means?
A blood pressure measurement shows us the pressure in the arteries. The two different values result from the rising and dropping pressure in the arteries during the pumping of the heart. The upper (systolic) value is the highest, the lower (diastolic) the lowest pressure in the arteries.
We speak of high blood pressure when a constant pressure of 140mmHg systolic and/or 85mmHg diastolic exists. In the long term increased blood pressure damages especially the heart and blood vessels.
In the interest of your health, your blood pressure should be checked regularly to detect high blood pressure early.
